Blues and More - Crowcatchers

Floor Kraayvanger is without question our Dutch grand lady of soul, rock and rhythm & blues. Floor is a huge fan of Etta James. Not only because of her impressive voice, but especially because of her ability to excel in all kinds of styles. Just like Floor does herself. Once she was the leadsinger of the famous band Superfloor but sice then she’s been making waves for years now with The Etta James Experience.

Jeffrey Migchelsen studied at the Conservatory of Groningen. That’s a long time ago. Nowadays Jeffrey has an impresive trackrecord as a famous Harderwijker, CEO of the local Popschool and most of all as a briljant live performer in various styles from jazz to rock to more experimental sounds. Jeffrey has formed a highly unique style combining all these different influences and is definitely one of the most expressive Dutch guitarplayers of his decade.

Marco Overkamp has already had a long and interesting career. Once he was the solid foundation of bands like The Veldmanbrothers. More recently he has been using his exceptional skills in all kinds of styles ranging from pop to funk, rock and fortunately also still blues. But all of that didn’t stop him from starting a another new bluesband. His chance meeting with Floor and Jeffrey at a Doyle Brahall concert will be marked as the start and beginning of the Crowcatchers.

Sjoerd Smeenk‘ makes organs moan, growl, jizzl, jazzl and rock, as organs should. Combining hard-swinging grooves, melodic improvisation, and a healthy dose of blues, he uses his unique skills and style to a excite all kind of audiences. He used to play keyboards in bands such as Steppin’ Soul and Original Sin, but nowadays he is best known as a founding member of the Etta James Experience and Stapled.

Donald van der Goes has been playing the bass since he was 14 years old. He did so in all kinds of music in bands and orchestras, in bars, theaters and at festivals. During the last 20 years he delivered the lows in various blues bands, most of the time together with Marco Overkamp on the drums.
